Dhaka: A high-level coordination meeting was convened at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Headquarters to discuss the overall security, law and order, and traffic management plans for the upcoming observance of Martyred Intellectuals Day and Great Victory Day.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting emphasized the importance of cautious and timely deployment of resources to ensure the smooth execution of state programs. Additional Police Commissioner (Admin) Md. Sarwar highlighted the need for strong coordination among all concerned agencies, stating that the DMP is committed to implementing necessary security measures for these significant national days.
Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) S. N. Md. Nazrul Islam expressed confidence in the collective efforts of all agencies to ensure that both national days are celebrated without disruptions. He also urged officials to conduct their duties responsibly and remain vigilant against the spread of rumors or misinformation on social media platforms.
The meeting commenced with a detailed presentation by DMP Joint Police Commissioner (Operations) Mohammad Shahidullah, who outlined the comprehensive security plan for the events. The plan aims to address potential security challenges and ensure the safety of all participants.
Present at the meeting were Additional Police Commissioner (Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime) Md. Masud Karim, Additional Police Commissioner (DB) Md. Shafiqul Islam, Additional Police Commissioner (Logistics, Finance and Procurement) Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali, Joint Police Commissioner (Logistics) Osman Gani, and other senior DMP officials. Representatives from various intelligence agencies, the Public Safety and Security Services Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Directorate General of Health Services, Dhaka North and South City Corporations, Dhaka WASA, Fire Service, and other government service organizations also participated, providing valuable insights and support.
