Dhaka:State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj emphasized the critical role of Scouting in fostering patriotism, discipline, honesty, leadership skills, and moral values among children from an early age.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Hajjaj highlighted these points during his address at the 'Grand Campfire' (Maha Tabu Jalsa) ceremony of the '6th District Cub Camporee 2026' held at Banani Vidyaniketan School and College in the capital. The event was organized by Bangladesh Scouts, Dhaka Metropolitan.
Hajjaj noted that Scouting teaches children teamwork, responsibility, mutual cooperation, and a commitment to serving humanity. These attributes, he stated, are essential in shaping children into responsible future citizens. He further mentioned that the primary objective of education extends beyond textbook knowledge to include the physical, mental, social, and moral development of children.
In addition, Hajjaj underscored the importance of extracurricular activities, such as sports, cultural programs, and Scouting, in complementing classroom education to enhance children's self-confidence, creativity, and leadership abilities. He stressed the need to encourage such activities in primary education to ensure comprehensive child development.
Furthermore, he urged educational institutions, teachers, and parents to collaborate in creating a joyful learning environment that nurtures children's potential and talents.
