Dhaka:A 13-year-old schoolboy tragically died after falling from the roof of a seven-storey building in the Chawkbazar area on Thursday afternoon.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the boy, identified as Mohammad Alif, was a fourth-grade student at Islambag Ashraf Ali School. He was the son of Mohammad Kabir and lived in the East Islambag Boubazar area of Chawkbazar.
The incident occurred around 2 p.m. while Alif was playing on the rooftop. He was critically injured in the fall and was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) about an hour later. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at 6 p.m.
Inspector Md. Habibur Rahman, in charge of the DMCH Police Camp, stated that the body is currently in the hospital morgue for further legal formalities.
