Habiganj: A school teacher was killed in a road accident in the Bendarpool-Notunbazar area under Bahubal upazila of the district this morning. The deceased was Rupjit Kar Raju, 36, son of Nipesh Kar of Baniagaon village and an assistant teacher at Mirpur Sunshine Model High School in the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred around 7 am on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway. A vegetable-laden truck heading towards Srimangal ran over the teacher and fled the scene. He later died on the way to Sylhet.
