A 53-year-old teacher riding his bycycle to school died after being knocked down by a speeding bus on Dinajpur-Phulbari road in Sadar upazila of Dinajpur on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Nur Jamal, an assistant teacher at Panchbari Government Primary School and son of Salim Chairman of Sadar upazila.

Noni Gopal, an inspector at Kotwali Police Station, said the accident occurred in the morning in the Jaliapara area, leaving him dead on the spot.
Agitated local people blocked Dinajpur-Phulbari road in protest against the accident, disrupting vehicular movement for an hour.
