Dhaka: The School Kho Kho tournament has commenced at the Paltan ground adjacent to the National Stadium in the capital today. A total of 13 school teams, comprising seven boys' teams and six girls' teams, are participating in the two-day event. The tournament is sponsored by Global Insurance Limited and organized by the Bangladesh Kho Kho Federation. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was officially inaugurated by Global Insurance Limited Chairman SM Sarwar Alam, who attended as the chief guest, with Bangladesh Kho Kho Federation President AHM Ziaul Haque presiding over the ceremony. Other notable attendees included Chairman of the Tournament Committee Engineer Abdul Muktadir, the federation's general secretary Meer Kaiser Sadik, its former general secretary Fazlur Rahman Babul, and the tournament's member secretary Matiur Rahman Babul, who were present as special guests. On the first day of the tournament, teams from Haider Ali High School, Alhaj Zafar Bepari High School, and Mouchak Scou t School and College emerged victorious in the boys' group matches. In the girls' group, Siddheswari Girls' High School, Lake Circus Girls' High School, and Mouchak School and College secured wins in their respective matches.
