Rangpur: State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj has announced that the school feeding programme will be implemented nationwide in the 2027 academic year. He mentioned that the programme's launch could be delayed within that year if errors are found during the current piloting phase, but the intention is to start at the beginning of the school year.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Hajjaj made these remarks while speaking to journalists after visiting projects at model schools constructed by trainees from the Primary Teachers' Training Institute (PTI) in Rangpur. He emphasized that the school feeding programme is currently being piloted, and its success will determine the exact timing of the full-scale launch. "So far, we are getting a very good response to the piloting with positive reviews," he noted, highlighting an upcoming workshop on the programme in Dinajpur district.

The state minister expressed confidence in launching the programme by 2027, saying, "If it continues like this, Inshallah, We will start at the beginning of the year 2027." Addressing concerns about fluctuating student numbers, Hajjaj stated that the primary objective is ensuring every child attends school and receives a quality education. He stressed the government's role in monitoring educational institutions to guarantee proper education delivery.

Hajjaj further articulated the government's commitment to providing essential services, indicating that where services are lacking, the government will step in to ensure citizens' needs are met. He highlighted the establishment of government primary schools to serve communities without access to educational facilities as part of this commitment.

He reaffirmed the government's stance on education, stating, "There will be no compromise over two issues: one is that every child should go to school and the second is that proper education should be provided in every school." Following his remarks, Hajjaj attended a six-hour workshop for PTI trainees, which concluded at 4 pm.
