Dhaka: The annual book fair organized by the Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) is scheduled to commence on January 5. Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed will officially inaugurate the 10-day event, which will be held on the premises of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, SCBA President Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin will preside over the inaugural ceremony, with acting Secretary Md Mahfuzur Rahman (Milon) conducting the proceedings. The fair will feature 48 stalls, offering a variety of books on subjects such as law, legal reference, politics, and children's literature, as stated by SCBA administrative officer Md Rabiul Hasan.
Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon highlighted that the book fair on the Supreme Court premises began in 2015 during his tenure as the secretary of the association. He emphasized the importance of books in the legal profession, noting that the fair is a vital resource for lawyers seeking professional literature. Khokon added that this initiative has bolstered the prestige of the SCBA and significantly benefits the lawyers of the apex court.
