Saudi Arabia Holds Special Place in Hearts of Bangladeshis: Jahangir

Dhaka: Home Adviser Lieutenant General (retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has expressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) holds a special place in the hearts of Bangladeshi people. ‘It is not only the holy land of Islam but also the second home of our more than 3.2 million expatriate workers,’ he stated during a program organized by the Saudi Embassy in Bangladesh to mark the 95th National Day of Saudi Arabia at the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Sheraton in Banani tonight, as mentioned in a Home Ministry press release.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Home Adviser emphasized the significant contribution of Saudi expatriates to Bangladesh’s economic development, portraying it as a vital link of friendship between the two nations. He noted that Saudi Arabia’s ongoing support for the welfare of Bangladeshi expatriates highlights the strong bond between the two countries.



Jahangir Alam Chowdhury further highlighted Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. He praised the Saudi leadership’s efforts in assisting Bangladesh’s economic modernization and diversification, which is believed to enrich future generations.



The Adviser also commended the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia for their exceptional statesmanship in promoting regional stability and contributing to global peace. He remarked that this leadership has played a crucial role in strengthening the unity of the Muslim Ummah.



The celebration was graced by the presence of Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr. Abdullah Jafar H. bin Abiyyah, various diplomatic corps members, high-ranking government officials, and notable figures from the business and industrial sectors.
