Kathmandu: This year's Bhairav Puraskar has been presented to satirist Laxmi Prasad Bhattarai (Laxman Gamnage). The award was conferred on Gamnage at a programme organized by Bhairav Puraskar Guthi at Jorpati, Kathmandu on Saturday. The award carries a purse of Rs 111,111. Similarly, Chudamani Gautam, a campaigner for purification of Nepali language and literature, received Bhairav Bangmaya Puraskar. The award also carries a purse of Rs 111,111. Likewise, Bhairav Pratibha Puraskar bagging a cash prize of Rs 51,111 was presented to an artist Laxmi Giri. On the occasion, Prof Dr Ram Prasad Gyawali, litterateurs - Gyan Nistha Gyawali and Manaka Pokharel shed light on the contributions of the award-receiving persons. Former Minister of Bagmati Province, Rameshwor Phunyal said litterateurs should reflect reality of the society like a mirror.
