Rangpur: The 'Satata' (Integrity) store is set to inspire students to embrace honesty from a young age, fostering their growth into patriotic citizens who contribute to a long-aspired corruption-free society. Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Director General (Enquiry and Investigation-2) Md Motaher Hossain emphasized this vision during a discussion at Begum Rokeya Auditorium of Salema Girls' High School.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event marked the inauguration of the 'Satata' store, celebrated for the moral standards upheld by the school's teachers and students. The occasion was graced by the presence of Deputy Director of the District Integrated Office of the ACC, Md Shaon Mia, as a special guest. The event gathered teachers, members of the Integrity Unit, students, and local dignitaries.
The inauguration of the 'Satata' store was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and prayers led by the chief guest. Headmaster Md Maqbul Hossain, who presided over the event, highlighted the store's role in nurturing honesty among students in their institutional life. He explained that students could purchase educational materials like pens, notebooks, pencils, and scales at fixed prices without any shopkeeper or supervision, depositing their payments in a designated box at the store.
Md Motaher Hossain further elaborated that the 'Satata' store serves as more than a shopping venue; it is a platform for promoting moral values. He stressed that practicing honesty and self-restraint from an early age is crucial for remaining free from corruption, with the store serving as a practical example of these values in both family and institutional settings.
