Santoo and Manita to carry Nepali national flag in Paris Olympics

Kathmandu: Table tennis player Santoo Shrestha and Judo player Manita Shrestha Pradhan will jointly carry the Nepali national flag during march pass during the upcoming 33rd Olympics.

The 33rd Olympics is going to take place in Paris, France from coming July 26 to August 11.

According to the Nepal Olympic Committee, the two athletes will carry the Nepali national flag, leading a seven member delegation in the mega sports event.

Badminton player Prince Dahal, shooting player Susmita Nepal, swimmer Alexander Shah and Subana Lama and athletics player Santoshi Shah will be participating in the Olympics along with Santoo Shrestha and Manita Shrestha Pradhan.

Pradeep Khati (shooting), Rajendra Kapali (table tennis), Debu Thapa (Judo), Kanti Kumari Mahato Yadav (athletics) and Nayana Shakya (swimming) are the coaches accompanying the Nepali players in the Olympics.

A majority of the Nepali players have already reached Paris for the competition. Minister for Youth and Sports Tejulal Chaudhary is also scheduled to attend the inaugural of the event along with Nepal Olympic Committee’s Chairperson Jeevanram Shrestha and other officials.
