Ruma:Residents of the remote hilly areas of Ruma Upazila have been provided with a new vehicle named 'Sampriti Express' to improve transportation, facilitate the movement of agricultural produce, and enhance access to emergency medical services.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the vehicle was handed over by Ruma Zone Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mehedi Hasan Sarker to local community representatives at the Munuwam Para Army Camp on Thursday afternoon.
The residents of Munuwam Para, Arthah Para, Basatlong Para, and Happy Hill Para, who belong to the Bawm, Marma, Tanchangya, and Tripura communities, have long encountered challenges in transportation due to the region's rugged terrain and scarcity of vehicles. Lieutenant Colonel Mehedi Hasan Sarker noted that the initiative is anticipated to ease daily travel, support the transport of agricultural goods to markets, and ensure faster hospital access during medical emergencies.
