Mumbai:Salman Khan used the latest episode of Bigg Boss 20 to condemn online trolling, body-shaming, and what he described as inappropriate paparazzi photographs of female celebrities.
According to United News of Bangladesh, during the show's 'Weekend Ka Vaar,' Salman addressed trolls who criticized his former girlfriend Katrina Kaif over her postpartum weight following her appearance at a Ganapati Utsav in Mumbai last week. He questioned why people troll someone who has been pregnant, noting that everyone gains weight during pregnancy and that Katrina would return to her fit self in due time.
A video clip of his comments quickly went viral, with social media users praising the actor and referring to him affectionately as 'Pookie,' a Gen Z term for someone seen as standing up for a good cause. Comments on social media included expressions of admiration, with one user writing, 'If green flag had a face,' and another saying, 'Green flag to ab Salman Khan lagne laga mujhe.'
Salman also discussed criticism about his age, acknowledging that people mock him for growing older. He stated, 'Of course, I'm 60 years old, yaar,' and added that he cannot be expected to remain as young as he was during his earlier films. Despite the trolling, Salman made it clear that he and his fan clubs are unaffected by the negative comments.
In a bold move, Salman removed his shirt and hat, wiped off his makeup on camera, and challenged trolls to criticize him, showcasing his physique to demonstrate his confidence. He also defended his brother Sohail Khan and others who have faced online ridicule, urging critics to look at themselves first before mocking others.
Salman further criticized paparazzi for taking inappropriate photographs of actresses, specifically mentioning how they capture shots from behind and focus on their legs. He expressed his disapproval of this behavior, citing an instance involving his niece, and encouraged girls to retaliate against such invasions of privacy.
Salman and Katrina reportedly began dating in the mid-2000s after working together. Katrina later revealed in a 2011 interview that Salman was her first serious relationship. She has been married to Vicky Kaushal since 2021, and the couple welcomed their first child, Vihaan, last November.
