Thimphu: After a magnificent victory over host Bhutan in the first match, the motivated Bangladesh U-17 women’s football team is set to face a strong Indian side in the big match of the four-nation SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship. The event is scheduled to be held at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu tomorrow.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the match kicks off at 3 pm Bangladesh time, following the day’s first fixture between India and Nepal, which starts at 3 pm. The Bangladesh team is showing a focused approach, with assistant coach Abul Hossain mentioning in a video message that the girls skipped field training in favor of a recovery session.
Hossain emphasized that the team is concentrating on the upcoming match against India, and the players are determined to avoid repeating the mistakes made in their last match against Bhutan. The Bangladesh team will play their third match of the tournament against Nepal on August 24 at the same venue.
The Bangladesh U-17 squad for the championship includes Yearzan Begum, Meghla Rani Roy, Tania Akter Fomi, Arpita Biswas Arpita, Fatema Akter, Umma Kulsum, Arifa Akter, Mst Almina, Mst Resme Akther, Thuinuye Marma, Sauravi Akanda Prity, Kranuching Marma, Reya, Alpi Akter, Protima Rani Joba Rani, Sorovi Rani, Mamoni Chakma, Ishita Tripura, Purnima Marma, and Mst Amena Khatun.
