Dhaka: Rupali Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Visa, a global leader in digital payments, aiming to expand the bank's Visa card business and strengthen digital payment services in Bangladesh.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the agreement outlines a long-term framework for the two organizations to collaboratively expand Rupali Bank's Visa card portfolio across both consumer and commercial segments. The initiative focuses on introducing innovative card products and services, providing customers with a seamless digital payment experience.
Kazi Md. Wahidul Islam, Managing Director of Rupali Bank PLC, and Sabbir Ahmed, Country Manager for Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh at Visa, exchanged the signed documents at a ceremony. Key figures present at the event included Deputy Managing Director of Rupali Bank Tahmina Akhter, General Managers Hasan Tanvir and Harunur Rashid, and Arifur Rahman, Director of Visa Business Development, South Asia.
The agreement is anticipated to support Rupali Bank's efforts to broaden its card portfolio and promote digital payment adoption in Bangladesh.
