Chattogram: Rubaiyat Jamil, 46, founder and CEO of ICE Technologies, passed away yesterday on-field during a cricket match at Hathazari in Chattogram. He was the only son of Late Mahbub Jamil, former special assistant to Chief Adviser in 2008-09 and Chairman of Singer Bangladesh Ltd.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rubaiyat Jamil was a young entrepreneur involved in multiple startups, including technology, food retail, elevators and escalators, and industrial cooling solutions. He was a former Director of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka, and an active member of several organizations, including the International Chamber of Commerce Bangladesh, German Chamber of Commerce and Industries, BASIS, Gulshan Club, International Club Dhaka, Gulshan Youth Club, and Savar Golf Club.
During his lifetime, Rubaiyat Jamil was a passionate cricketer and was part of the Bangladesh under-16 and under-19 cricket teams in the 1990s. He left behind his mother, sister, wife, three daughters, and numerous relatives and friends to mourn his death.
His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held tomorrow after Zuhr prayers at Gulshan Azad Mosque, after which he will be laid to rest in Banani Graveyard.
