Dhaka: Rajshahi University (RU) launched a weeklong cleanliness drive today, aiming to make the campus neat and clean. Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib inaugurated the drive at the administrative building of the university with the “Clean Campus, Save Campus” slogan.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, at the inauguration program, VC Naquib emphasized that the drive will continue to ensure the campus remains tidy. He stated, “It’s all of our moral duty to keep the campus neat, clean and healthy.” He urged students to dispose of waste properly by using dustbins and mentioned that more dustbins will be installed if necessary.
VC Naquib also encouraged students to speak out against those polluting the campus environment. Highlighting the importance of changing habits, he called for social movements to maintain a habitable campus. The event was attended by Pro-VCs Prof Mayeen Uddin and Prof Farid Uddin Khan, Proctor Prof Mahbubur Rahman, and Students Adviser Prof Amirul Islam.
