Rajshahi: Rajshahi University (RU) organised a day-long interactive workshop on accreditation to enhance the capacity of its academic and non-academic teachers in evaluating and accrediting academic programmes. The workshop, titled “Preparation for Accreditation: Identifying Challenges and the Ways to Resolve”, was organised by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at its conference hall with support from the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BAC Chairman Prof Mesbah Uddin Ahmed attended the programme as chief guest, while RU Pro-Vice Chancellors Prof Mayeen Uddin and Prof Farid Uddin Khan were present as special guests. IQAC Director Prof Abu Reza presided over the session.
Prof Mesbah Uddin highlighted the development of a national qualifications framework for higher education by the University Grants Commission. This framework is intended to guide students about learning outcomes and skills prior to admission, thereby ensuring international standards in Bangladesh’s education system.
The workshop also featured addresses from IQAC Additional Directors Prof Kamal Uddin and Prof Monimul Haque, who contributed to the discussions on accreditation challenges and solutions.
