RU Admission Test Begins Amid Massive Preparations for 2025-2026 Session

Rajshahi: A three-day admission test for first-year honors classes in the 2025-2026 academic session of Rajshahi University (RU) began today, Friday, amid massive preparations. The admission process started with the C unit examination, which was conducted in two shifts on this day.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 2,72,626 students are competing for 4,017 seats across 59 departments under 10 faculties and two institutes this year. On average, 67 students are vying for each available seat in the university. The entry tests are categorized into A, B, and C units, with C unit examinations taking place today.

RU Vice-Chancellor Prof Saleh Hasan Naqib, along with Pro-VCs Prof Mayeen Uddin and Prof Farid Uddin Khan, visited various examination rooms to oversee the proceedings. The C unit test saw the participation of 1,18,962 students, covering 26 departments belonging to the science, agriculture, engineering, bioscience, and geosciences faculties.

Additionally, the A unit test, which includes 27 departments from arts, law, social science, fine arts faculties, and the Institute of Education and Research, will see 1,15,515 students participating. The B unit, consisting of six departments from the Business Studies Faculty and the Institute of Business Administration, will host 30,886 examinees.

Vice-Chancellor Saleh Hassan Naquib announced that the admission test for the C unit was conducted today, while the A unit test is scheduled for Saturday. The B unit test is set for January 24, from 11 am to 12 noon. The tests employ the MCQ method, and examinees are prohibited from leaving the examination halls during the 60-minute duration. Furthermore, mobile phones, calculators, and electronic devices with memory cards are not allowed inside the examination venues.

The Vice-Chancellor emphasized the university’s commitment to conducting the tests successfully and efficiently, highlighting the close coordination with local civil and police administrations. To facilitate the students and their guardians, the test is also being held in Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Rangpur, and Barishal, apart from the Rajshahi University campus.
