Rajshahi: The intake test for the ‘A’ unit in the first-year honor courses for the 2025-2026 academic year at Rajshahi University (RU) was conducted successfully today, registering an impressive attendance rate of 90.66 percent. The examination was organized in two shifts, with the first session running from 11 a.m. to 12 noon and the second from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, RU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Saleh Hassan Naquib addressed the media in front of the Dean’s complex after visiting several examination rooms. This year, a total of 2,72,626 students are competing for 4,017 available seats across 59 departments within 10 faculties and two institutes. On average, 67 students are vying for each seat.
The university has been conducting entry tests in A, B, and C units since last Friday. Specifically, 1,04,730 candidates appeared for the ‘A’ unit test, which encompasses 27 departments from the arts, law, social science, fine arts faculties, and the Institute of Education and Research.
The upcoming ‘B’ unit test is scheduled for January 24, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. To accommodate students and their guardians, the tests are also being administered in Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Rangpur, and Barishal, aside from Rajshahi University itself.
