Discussions have been held between Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), the National News Agency, Nepal, and China Media Group (CMG) on forging collaboration on technology transfer, training and experience sharing. An understanding was reached on collaboration on this topic during the meeting between a delegation of the CMG led by its Director for Asia-Pacific, Cao Yi, and RSS Executive Chairman Dharmendra Jha at the RSS Central Office here today. They also discussed strengthening the relations between the two countries through exchange of training and participation in programmes between the two organizations. On the occasion, Jha said important discussions have been held on collaboration between the news agencies of the two countries and expressed his conviction that this would cement the bilateral ties between Nepal and China at the people's level. The cooperation between the country's only news agency RSS which has a history spanning over six decades and the CMG will not only help in terms of news exchange but also in further expanding the relations between the two countries at the people's level. "News collaboration relations should always be there and we are in favour of continued partnership," the RSS Executive Chairman said and stressed on further deepening the historical, cultural and public-level ties between the two countries in the coming days as well. CMG Asia-Pacific Station Director Yi said the news organizations of the two countries can collaborate in areas as technology transfer and training exchanges as well as on exchange of news, and through this, in further expanding ties between the two countries. He said the CMG would take initiative on moving ahead by reaching a collaborative agreement between the two organizations. Stating that the Third Plenary Meeting of the 20th General Congress of the Communist Party of China held in Beijing has decided on maintaining and expanding open global ties and on collaborating in modern development, the CMG official said in keeping with this decision the CM G has adopted the policy of exchange of cooperation among the news organizations of related countries and moving ahead learning from each other. Director Yi of the CMG, which has its headquarters in Hong Kong, has the responsibility of forging collaboration with 41 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. China Media Group (CMG), formally established on April 19, 2018, is one of the largest media conglomerates in the world. It was created through the merger of China Central Television (incorporating China Global Television Network), China National Radio, and China Radio International. CMG operates a vast broadcasting network, comprising: 47 television channels, of which seven international channels offer content in six languages; 17 radio frequency bands targeting a Chinese audience, and radio programming in 44 languages targeting a global audience; three major news websites, among other media outlets.
