Kathmandu: This year’s Yagya Prasad Acharya Rotary Lifetime Achievement Award has been presented to senior journalist Bhairab Risal.
The office-bearers of Rotary Club International District 3292 visited Risal at his residence in Anamnagar in the Capital City today and handed over the Award.
The Award carries Rs 100,000 in cash.
Receiving the Award, journalist Risal said the norms, values and ideals of journalism have degraded in recent times.
He viewed that the media should raise the issues of the nation and people through the optimum exercise of professionalism.
On the occasion, Acting Chairperson of Rotary Journo Award Committee Namrata Sharma and founder of Rotary Club International District 3292 Suresh Acharya said the presentation of the Award to senior journalist Risal has uplifted the value of the Award itself.
They said the Award was presented to Risal for his contributions to the nation through the media.
