Rajshahi: A suspected robber was killed in a lynch-mob attack at Chakpalashi village in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi district early Monday. The deceased was identified as Shaheen Ali, 35, son of Akram Ali of Durgapur upazila.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Dulal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Puthia Police Station, reported that eight robbers, riding in a pickup van, entered the village around 3 am. The locals, sensing the presence of the robbers, raised the alarm and gathered people by shouting.

As the robbers attempted to flee in their vehicle, the local residents blocked the road by placing logs, preventing their escape. The villagers then captured the robbers and beat them, resulting in one fatality and injuries to seven others. The injured were taken to a local hospital and subsequently handed over to the police.
