Bandarban: The Yellow Robe Offering Ceremony (Kathin Chibar Dan), recognized as one of the most sacred religious festivals for Buddhists, took place at the Sarbajanin Bouddha Vihara in Bandarban town today. The event drew a significant number of Buddhist devotees who gathered at the temple from early morning to participate in the prayers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ceremonies began with Panchashila, Asta Parishkar Dana, and Moha Sangha Dana conducted in the morning. These rituals are integral to the festival and hold great spiritual significance for the participants. The monastery also hosted special prayers, where attendees sought peace and prosperity for the nation and the world.
As the day progressed into evening, the devotees engaged in the traditional offering of yellow robes to the monks. This act of offering is considered a profound gesture of devotion and respect within the Buddhist community.
