Tangail: Three people were killed and another was injured in a head-on collision between a pickup van and a motorcycle in the Battala Bazar area under Dhanbari upazila of the district this morning. The deceased were identified as Al-Amin, 30, son of Mohammad Jinnat Ali, and Swapan Mia, 35, son of Mohammad Aminul Haque, both residents of Melandah upazila in Jamalpur district, and Mohammad Jewel, 32, son of Nur Islam of Jamalpur Sadar upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred around 8 am on the Tangail-Jamalpur highway when a pickup van collided head-on with a motorcycle. The collision resulted in the deaths of the pickup van driver and the two motorcyclists at the scene, and left another rider injured. Officer-in-Charge of Dhanbari Police Station SM Shahidullah confirmed the details of the incident.
The injured person was transported to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for treatment as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
