Gopalganj: A truck helper lost his life in a road accident in the Pathalia area of Sadar upazila this morning. The deceased has been identified as Md Jasim Sheikh, aged 23, son of Sahabur Sheikh from Char Darial village in Mollahat upazila, Bagerhat district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident took place on the Dhaka-Khulna highway. A truck, traveling at high speed, collided with a stationary truck parked beside the road. This collision left the speeding truck’s helper, Jasim, critically injured. Bhatiapara Highway Police Station Sub-Inspector Roman Mollah provided these details about the incident.
Following the accident, local residents acted swiftly to rescue Jasim and transported him to the 250-bed Gopalganj General Hospital. Despite their efforts, the doctor on duty declared him dead upon arrival at the hospital.
