Dhaka:Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, BNP Acting Secretary General and Prime Minister's Political Adviser, emphasized the integral role of teachers in the nation's development during a rally organized by the Teachers-Employees Oikya Jote at the Engineers Institution on World Teachers' Day.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rizvi stated that the joys and sorrows of teachers are closely linked to the nation's progress. He expressed confidence that the legitimate demands of teachers would be gradually fulfilled.

Rizvi criticized the state of the education sector during Sheikh Hasina's regime, alleging that excessive politicization and a focus on pass rates over quality education had crippled the sector. He claimed that teachers were pressured to pass students regardless of their actual performance.

He also called on teachers to take responsibility for improving education quality while advocating for their rights. Rizvi noted that the Prime Minister is committed to advancing education and addressing teachers' concerns.

The rally was presided over by Principal Selim Bhuiyan, President of the Teachers-Employees Oikya Jote, and included speeches from BNP leaders and teacher-employee representatives from across the country.
