Dhaka:BNP Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi emphasized the need for resolving differences over the implementation of the July National Charter through parliamentary discussions rather than street demonstrations.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rizvi stated that the July mass uprising must be accepted, and while BNP does not oppose the implementation of the July Charter, there are dissenting notes that need to be addressed. He mentioned that not only BNP but many other political parties have disagreements that should be resolved in Parliament within a democratic environment.

Rizvi, who also serves as a Political Adviser to the Prime Minister, made these remarks during a discussion as the chief guest on the occasion of the 35th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum at the Dhaka Law Report auditorium. He noted BNP's support for constitutional amendments to implement the July Charter, suggesting that proposals could be enacted through necessary amendments to strengthen democracy.

He highlighted that all political parties could collaborate in Parliament to make the required amendments with a two-thirds majority. Additionally, Rizvi outlined various government initiatives aimed at ensuring social security, such as the Family Card, Farmer Card, Expatriate Card, and Health Card programs.

Rizvi also mentioned the government's efforts to provide allowances to religious leaders as part of its social protection initiatives. He alleged that there were attempts to destabilize the country by opposing these initiatives, implicating leaders and activists of Jubo League and Chhatra League in incidents of vehicle arson and attacks on police.

The discussion was presided over by Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum President Khorshed Mia Alam and moderated by the organization's Member Secretary Nihar Hossain Faruk, with several senior lawyers in attendance.
