Dhaka: River ports have been instructed to hoist cautionary signal number one as rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur in different parts of the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the warning for inland river ports will remain valid until 6:00 pm today, as per a bulletin issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD). The bulletin specifies that rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty or squally winds, with speeds ranging from 45-60 kph, are expected over the regions of Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, and Sylhet. River ports in these regions are required to hoist cautionary signal number one.
In a separate BMD bulletin, maritime ports including Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to lower their signals as squally weather is not expected over all maritime ports, the North Bay, and adjoining coastal areas of the country.
