Dhaka: River ports have been instructed to hoist cautionary signal number one as rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary west/north-westerly gusty or squally wind is expected to occur in various regions of the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) issued a bulletin indicating that the warning for inland river ports will remain effective until 6:00 pm today. The Met office bulletin specifies that rain or thundershowers, along with temporary west/north-westerly gusty or squally wind at speeds ranging from 45 to 60 kilometers per hour, are likely to affect the regions of Rangpur, Dinajpur, Mymensingh, Tangail, Cumilla, Noakhali, Barishal, and Sylhet. Consequently, river ports in these regions have been directed to hoist cautionary signal number one.
