Dhaka: Members of the U.S based human rights organization Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) Human Rights today highly appreciated the activities of the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances. A high-level delegation of RFK, during a meeting with the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, called for investigating every incident of enforced disappearance, expediting the trial of the accused, and necessary institutional reforms.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, RFK President Kerry Kennedy led the three-member delegation. During the meeting, they emphasized the importance of the commission continuing its activities to ensure fair investigations and expressed hope for discussions at the highest level of the government on this critical issue.
Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances Head Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury welcomed the delegation and provided insights into the activities of the commission. He stated that over 1,800 allegations have been received so far and assured that the commission is investigating all allegations thoroughly.
Commission members Md Nur Khan and Dr Nabila Idris, among others, were present at the event.
