Revenue Officer Found Dead at Naogaon Hospital: Investigation Underway

Naogaon: A revenue official was found dead at Naogaon 250-bed General Hospital early Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Zunayed Saki, 37, an assistant revenue officer from Dhaka, originally from the Pirojpur district.



According to United News of Bangladesh, a trolleyman named Bappi reported that two individuals arrived at the hospital in a pickup van around 5 am, carrying the body. They fled the scene after leaving the body on a trolley in front of the emergency department. Bappi mentioned that as the individuals were leaving, several people shouted at them, but they ignored the calls and ran away.



Hospital staff later moved the body to the emergency department, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. Family members shared that Zunayed Saki had traveled by train from Dhaka and disembarked at Santahar Railway Junction to visit his wife in Mahadevpur upazila of Naogaon.



Rashed Ahmed, Naogaon Customs Assistant Revenue Commissioner, stated that Zunayed, son of Manjurul Haque, was serving as an assistant revenue officer at Dhaka Customs, while his wife is a college teacher in Naogaon. Rehenuma Munmun, the duty doctor at the hospital, confirmed that the victim was brought in dead, with several injury marks on his hands and legs.



Niamul Haque, Officer-in-charge of Naogaon Sadar Model Police, noted that the victim’s wife lodged a complaint at the police station. ‘We are trying to identify those who left the body in front of the hospital,’ said the officer-in-charge. Legal action will be taken following the investigation.
