Magura: A retired police officer was tragically killed in a road accident at Ekkta Kacha Bazar in the district town on Saturday evening. The deceased, identified as 75-year-old Fazlur Rahman, was a resident of the Pitiapara area of the town.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fatal accident occurred around 7:00 pm when Rahman was attempting to cross the road and was struck by a bus. Despite the quick response from locals who rushed him to the Magura 250-bed Hospital, he was declared dead by the on-duty doctor upon arrival.
Md. Alamgir Hossain, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Magura Ramnagar Highway Police Station, confirmed the incident. He stated that the vehicle involved in the accident has been seized, although the driver managed to flee the scene.
