Remittance Inflow Surges by 25.6 Percent in Early August

Dhaka: Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 25.6 percent, reaching US$1,424 million in the first 17 days of August, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank issued here today. Last year, during the same period, the country’s remittance inflow was $1,134 million.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the period from July 2025 to August 17, 2025, of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances totaling $3,902 million. This figure marks an increase from the $3,047 million remitted during the same period of the previous fiscal year. The significant rise in remittances highlights the continued financial support provided by expatriates, contributing to the country’s economy.
