Remittance Inflow Sees 21.83pc Growth in Oct.

DHAKA: Expatriate Bangladeshis sent US$2.40 billion in remittances in October 2024, marking a 21.83 percent increase compared to the same month in the previous year. The country had received $1.97 billion from overseas workers in October 2023, based on data from the central bank.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the period from July to October in the current 2024-25 fiscal year saw expatriate Bangladeshis sending $8.93 billion in remittances. This is a significant increase from the $6.87 billion received during the same period in the previous fiscal year.

In September 2024, remittances also stood at $2.4 billion, indicating a consistent flow of funds from overseas workers back to Bangladesh.
