Remittance Inflow in Bangladesh Sees 13.4% Increase by December 23

Dhaka: Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 13.4 percent, reaching US$2,531 million in the twenty-three days of December, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued today. Last year, during the same period, the country’s remittance inflow was $2,232 million.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the period from July to December 23, 2025, of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances amounting to $15,569 million. This figure marks an increase compared to the $13,370 million sent during the same period of the previous fiscal year.



The growth in remittance inflow underscores the crucial role of expatriates in the country’s economy, contributing to the overall financial stability and growth. The data released by Bangladesh Bank highlights the significant increase in financial support from abroad, reflecting a positive trend in the country’s economic outlook.
