Dhaka:The country received $8.357 billion in workers' remittances from July 1 to September 28 in the current fiscal year 2026-27, reflecting a 13.5 percent increase compared to the previous year, as per data from Bangladesh Bank.
According to United News of Bangladesh, remittance inflow during the same period in the previous fiscal year 2025-26 was $7.365 billion.
In the first 28 days of September 2026, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $2.532 billion, a 2.7 percent rise from the $2.465 billion recorded in September 2025. On September 28 alone, remittances amounted to $98 million.
This consistent growth in remittances is contributing positively to Bangladesh's foreign exchange reserves and overall external-sector stability.
