DHAKA: Disaster Management and Relief Adviser Faruk E Azam Bir Protik today received a substantial donation of Tk 47.88 lakh on behalf of the Chief Adviser, Prof Dr. Muhammad Yunus. The donation, presented at the secretariat office, is aimed at supporting relief efforts for those affected by recent floods.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the donation was made by officials and employees of the Ministry of Food and its affiliated offices and institutions. The cheque was handed over by Food Secretary Md Masudul Hasan to the adviser in a formal ceremony. Present at the event were Disaster Management and Relief Ministry Secretary Md Kamrul Hasan and other senior officials of the ministry.
In addition to this donation, Adviser Faruk E Azam Bir Protik has received a total of Tk 980,447,203 through 237 cheques, pay-orders, and bank drafts. These contributions are directed to the Chief Adviser’s relief and welfare fund, underscoring a significant collective effort to assist those impacted by the natural disaster.
