Regent Hospital Chairman Shahed Arrested Again in Dhaka

Dhaka: Police on Monday arrested Mohammad Shahed, the chairman of Regent Hospital, who previously served a jail term in a case involving the issuance of fake Covid-19 testing reports during the pandemic. Shahed was apprehended around 1:00 pm from the ECB Chattar area in Mirpur with the assistance of Cantonment thana Police, as informed by Pallabi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hasan Basir.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the arrest was made based on a warrant issued in a CR (Complaint Register) case. The OC stated that legal procedures in connection with the case are currently underway. Despite securing bail in all the cases filed against him on September 4, 2024, Shahed found himself back in custody. His initial arrest was carried out by the Rapid Action Battalion from Satkhira district on July 15, 2020.
