Dhaka: The Public Administration Reform Commission has proposed the introduction of 12 main cadre services, effectively repealing the existing unified cadre service under the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS). This proposal was included in a report submitted to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the commission recommended the establishment of 12 distinct cadre services. These include the Bangladesh Administrative Service, Bangladesh Judicial Service, Bangladesh Public Security Service, Bangladesh Foreign Service, Bangladesh Accounts Service, Bangladesh Audit Service, Bangladesh Revenue Service, Bangladesh Engineering Service, Bangladesh Education Service, Bangladesh Health Service, Bangladesh Agriculture Service, and Bangladesh Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Service.
In a related development, the Judiciary Reform Commission, led by Justice Shah Abu Naeem Mominur Rahman, and the Public Administration Reform Commission, chaired by Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, each submitted their respective reports to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus. The submission ceremony took place at the State Guest House Jamuna, with members of both commissions present.
