Barishal: Authorities reported 288 new dengue cases in the country during the past 24 hours till this morning, marking the highest number of patients hospitalized in a single day with the disease this year.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during this period, 261 patients were hospitalized in Barishal, 11 in Chattogram, one in Dhaka division, 12 in Dhaka south, one in Rajshahi, and two were admitted to different hospitals in Mymensingh, as stated in a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of cases has risen to 5,303, while 23 deaths from dengue have been reported this year. Additionally, 268 dengue patients were released from different hospitals in the last 24 hours, with a total of 4,832 patients having been discharged across the country so far.
The statement further noted that last year, the total number of dengue cases reached 101,214, with 575 reported deaths from the disease.
