Dhaka: BNP Secretary General and LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today stated that rebuilding the country after pulling it out of destruction is now the new challenge for the government. “Today we face a huge challenge. We came to power amid a heap of destruction. Wherever you look, you hear that there is nothing left. That is the real situation. Rising from this destruction and rebuilding is not only challenge for the party but also for the government,” he said. The veteran BNP leader made the remarks this morning at an exchange-of-views meeting with district leaders of BNP, Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in the city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Fakhrul emphasized that the party members have just completed a major struggle aimed at saving the people, the country, and protecting democracy. He remarked on the victory achieved in this battle, highlighting the party’s majority in parliament and the formation of a government under the leadership of Tarique Rahman. He urged party leaders and activists to remember the leadership of Tarique Rahman and the sacrifices made by party members while strengthening the party further. Fakhrul called on them to expand the party’s activities to the grassroots level and maintain close connections with the public.
BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman addressed the gathering as the chief guest. The program was presided over by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. Among others present were BNP standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed, Iqbal Hassan Mahmud Tuku, Selima Rahman, and DR AZM Zahid Hossain.
