RCC Seeks Close Coordination with Line Departments to Enhance Civic Services

Rajshahi: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has emphasized the need for close coordination with all internal line departments to enhance civic services. This initiative was highlighted during a coordination meeting held at the RCC conference hall, chaired by Dr. ANM Bazlur Rashid, Commissioner of Rajshahi division and RCC Administration.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting saw discussions on various issues including ongoing and proposed projects, traffic congestion mitigation, civic security, and environmental development. Attendees included Dr. Zillur Rahman, Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun, Additional Chief Engineer of the Department of Roads and Highway, Tuhinur Alam, Chairman of Rajshahi Development Authority (RDA), Rezaul Alam Sarker, Managing Director of Rajshahi WASA, and Professor Khandaker Faisal Alam, Principal of Rajshahi Medical College.

Dr. Bazlur Rashid called for the creation of a master plan that coordinates efforts between RCC and development associate institutions to ensure sustainable development. He reiterated that RCC, being a service-oriented institution, not only provides civic services but also collaborates with other institutions.

Dr. Rashid highlighted the necessity of restricting illegal vehicles and promoting speed control systems to alleviate traffic congestion. RMP Commissioner Dr. Zillur Rahman emphasized the importance of installing close circuit cameras citywide to enhance security.

RDA Chairman Tuhinur Alam provided updates on the relocation of Dhaka Bus Terminal to Nawdapara terminal, which is progressing and expected to be completed in the next two months. This relocation is anticipated to significantly reduce traffic congestion.
