Rajshahi: As part of a three-month-long program to implement the countrywide Dengue Prevention and Cleanliness Campaign-2026, Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has officially inaugurated its fogger spray and special cleanliness activities.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the formal inauguration of the special cleanliness drive and fogger spray campaign at the Rajshahi Government Women's College hostel was conducted by RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton. The event also saw the participation of Divisional Commissioner of Rajshahi, Yusuf Ali, who delivered a speech highlighting the initiative.
RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton and Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Yusuf Ali took part in distributing public awareness leaflets across various city areas, including Sonadighi crossing, to promote the campaign. Additional Divisional Commissioners Rezaul Alam Sarkar and Habibur Rahman, along with RCC Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim, Chief Conservancy Officer Sheikh Mamun, Superintending Engineer Ahmad Al Moin Parag, and Chief Health Officer Dr. Anjuman Ara Begum, were also present during the event.
RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton emphasized that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has inaugurated the Dengue Prevention and Cleanliness Campaign nationwide, aiming to tackle the dengue situation effectively and ensure cleanliness. He called for the cooperation of city dwellers to build a dengue-free metropolis, stating, "With everyone's cooperation, we will build a dengue-free city."
The three-month program will feature various activities aimed at dengue prevention. The event was attended by RCC officers and employees, cleaners, members of BD Clean, leaders of political parties, and other dignitaries.
