Rajshahi: Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton has given necessary instructions to the concerned to complete the flyover construction work within the stipulated time.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the administrator has also directed officials to take necessary steps to quickly repair potholes on the roads of Gorhanga Rail Gate and surrounding areas. Additionally, he emphasized the improvement of the drainage system to reduce public suffering. The directives were issued during Riton's inspection of the Gorhanga Rail Gate area, aimed at advancing the construction of the flyover, repairing road potholes, and enhancing the drainage infrastructure.
During the noon inspection, Riton reviewed the progress of the under-construction flyover, assessed the current condition of the road, and evaluated the drainage system. He communicated to journalists that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has tasked him with ensuring citizen services, stating, "I am working to implement the Prime Minister's directives." The flyover construction, which had been stalled for a long time, is now being expedited under Riton's leadership.
The completion of three flyovers has been prioritized to alleviate public suffering, and once finished, they will be opened for public use. The City Corporation is focusing on ensuring ease of movement for residents and addressing civic issues such as waterlogging. Instructions have been issued to ensure quality and timely completion of all ongoing development works.
Riton also mentioned that various initiatives have been undertaken by Rajshahi City Corporation to prevent dengue. A nationwide dengue prevention and cleanliness drive, directed by the Prime Minister, will be inaugurated on September 12. This campaign will be conducted across all wards of the City Corporation, with the goal of building a dengue-free city through collective efforts.
During the inspection, key officials such as Western Zone of Railway General Manager Ahmed Hossain Masum, RCC's Superintending Engineer Khairul Baker, Executive Engineer Nilufer Yasmin, and concerned engineers were present.
