Dhaka: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) is actively working to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon season by removing mud and garbage from city drains. In a bid to keep the drainage system functional, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton conducted an inspection of the drain cleaning activities in front of Nagar Bhaban this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the inspection, Administrator Riton directed officers and employees of the RCC Conservancy Department to implement effective measures to prevent waterlogging and enhance civic services. He also appealed to the residents of the city to refrain from dumping waste and garbage indiscriminately into the drains.
Local residents have welcomed the initiative, expressing gratitude to the RCC administrator for his efforts. RCC conservancy workers are currently engaged in the task of removing mud, waste, and garbage from the city's drainage system to ensure its proper functioning.
RCC Conservancy Officer Jubayer Hossain Moon and supervisors were also present during the inspection, supporting the ongoing efforts to maintain a clean and efficient drainage system in Rajshahi.
