Rangpur: The Rangpur district unit of ‘Ganatantra Mancha’ today organised a protest rally and procession to protest the Israeli aggression and genocide in Gaza and Rafah in Palestine. Rangpur district unit coordinator of Ganatantra Mancha and district JSD president Amin Uddin presided over the protest rally held on the Rangpur Press Club premises this afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the protest saw participation from several key figures, including Convener of Rangpur district Ganosamhati Andolan Touhidur Rahman, district convener of Nagorik Oikko Abdul Jabbar, its joint secretary Mahi Azad, general secretary of Rangpur metropolitan JSD ABM Mashiur Rahman, District Coordinator of State Reform Movement Professor Chinu Kabir, its Rangpur divisional coordinator Advocate Raihan Kabir, and district office coordinator Kanak Rahman. JSD leader Sergeant (Retd) Atiar Rahman also addressed the gathering.
The speakers emphasized that the ongoing indiscriminate bombing, land grabbing, killing of civilians, and crimes against humanity in Gaza and Rafah must be halted immediately. They stressed the importance of recognizing the historical and legal right of the Palestinians to establish an independent state. Moreover, they called for full transparency and cooperation in investigations conducted by the International Court of Justice (ICC) and the United Nations.
Professor Chinu Kabir highlighted that the inhumanity of the Israeli aggression and genocide in Gaza and Rafah is unacceptable. He stated, “Israel has been unjustly established on Palestinian land in the interest of establishing trade, aggression and plunder by US imperialism and its allies. Peace in the Middle East can only be established by defeating Zionism.”
The speakers urged global citizens, including entities like the UN and OIC, to raise their voices against the genocide perpetrated by Israel.
