Rampal: The Maitree Super Thermal Power Plant (MSTPP) has achieved a remarkable national milestone by generating 700 million units (MUs) of electricity in November 2025.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this was the highest monthly generation by any power plant in Bangladesh. This historic performance stands as a testament to MSTPP's operational excellence and reliability. The plant consistently supported the national grid throughout the month, contributing nearly 11.5 percent of Bangladesh's total electricity demand, thereby reinforcing its position as the country's foremost power generator.
The milestone also reflected the plant's industrial capability, efficient coal and asset management, and meticulous financial and operational planning. The MSTPP has been regularly delivering over 600 MUs, or about 8 percent of Bangladesh's total electricity demand.
With its performance and reliability, the MSTPP continues to be a cornerstone of Bangladesh's energy security, powering industries, homes, and economic growth across the nation.
