Rajshahi: Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) is steadfast in its commitment to foster entrepreneurship as a means to enhance socio-economic development in the northwest region of Bangladesh. The specialized commercial bank is actively supporting small and medium entrepreneurs to drive financial growth and alleviate poverty in the area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, RAKUB officials shared these insights during the closing and certificate ceremony of a month-long training program held today. The training, titled 'Entrepreneurship Development Program,' was organized by RAKUB at its training institute with support from Bangladesh Bank (BB) as part of the implementation of its 'The Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP)' project.
SICIP is designed to boost the technology-oriented skilled workforce in Bangladesh's key sectors. It focuses on developing training, strengthening managerial skills and green innovation capacity, and expanding inclusive skilling opportunities for women and disadvantaged groups. The program's objectives include enhancing industry competitiveness through skilled labor and innovation, creating job opportunities, and building a diversified, resilient economy.
The ceremony was addressed by BB Executive Director Rathin Kumar Paul and Joint Director Ayub Ali, who attended as chief and special guests, respectively. RAKUB General Manager Atikul Islam presided over the event. Other speakers included RAKUB Deputy General Manager Nabiul Karim and Principal of the training institute Subrata Kumar Sarker.
A total of 25 entrepreneurs participated in the training, which marks a significant step towards empowering local business owners and contributing to regional economic development.
